My Invoicing Process
Once a client has booked an appointment they agree to a cancellation fee from the date of booking. If a customer cancels a service before the booking date then there is no cancellation fee.
For individuals
Upon completion of the service I will send out my invoice for which the customer has 7 days to pay. Upon receipt of payment the service will be released to the customer. If the customer refuses to pay within the timeframe then delivery of the service will not be released and a cancellation fee will be charged instead. For example, if I've done a manuscript appraisal for a customer then the editorial letter won't be given to them until payment is received.
This is to protect my business from unpaid invoices for services delivered.
For businesses
Upon completion of the service I will send out the materials and my invoice, for which the customer has 7 days to pay.
Cancellation fee
If a customer cancels a service from their booking date onwards I will charge a $200AUD cancellation fee. This is so that I am partially compensated for my labour and for lost clientele bookings.
